Ahh, so happy this got tumbld!
Got these in the post, FINALLY! :D Best smelling package ever. I got these awesome soaps from http://contactcaffeine.bigcartel.com/
I highly recommend. They smell amazing, especially ruby dragon <3
Restoration has been available for a while in their store and seems to be sort of a staple. Tried it out this week.
The dry scent is a very strong, sweet, clean and powdery sort of floral. Like I said before, it’s not the scent of cut grass, it’s like being in the middle of a garden with…
Restoration is such a great scent when everything outside is in bloom. Makes you feel like you’re blooming, too!
im gonna be the best-smelling julie on the planet
which means my contact solid perfumes are here! I chose five and couldn’t pick the last so I asked Maly to surprise me—i ended up getting their new, limited series “cedar and saffron”! Neat!
Bamboo grass I got just to kind of explore the green scents some more. It’s a scent that’s very “ozone” with lavender and just a whiff of mint (not peppermint, but mint leaf, like you might find on a dessert pastry). It’s more delicate than restoration, almost reminds me of a bag of tea leaves or light potpourri.
Egyptian Soul is incensy but not like the nag champa sapphire dragon was. It’s predominantly myrrh, with dragon’s blood, patchouli, and a hint of something floral. Not too overpowering but really really good.
Sweet almost DEAR SWEET LORD. You know what this smells like? Amaretto. Not even marzipan, it’s too strong for that. It’s amaretto, it even seems to have that apricot sweetness to it. unngh rubs my face all over it
Werewolf grew on me, so I tried it out in the perfume. I have to say, without the glycerin scent of the soap coming in between, it’s a really nice dark, earthy scent. Little leather, little woodsy, little patchouli and lavender…and yes it still reminds me of ski vacation.
Amethyst dragon is an interesting one. It’s incensy but again, not like sapphire dragon was. It’s dark amber (almost reminds me of yankee candle’s black coconut and amber glow, all mixed together) combined with lavender. It’s a really interesting sort of zen, soothing combo.
I didn’t know what to expect from cedar and saffron but it sure wasn’t what I smelled. You do smell the cedar—darker and richer than pine, so this isn’t a christmas tree scent—but then yup, there’s the unmistakable scent of saffron. Some other spices are in there to, and I think I smell patchouli…it’s almost smoky in that sense. Really unique scent, glad I got the chance to try it before it’s gone!
Soap Name: Patchouli & Honey
Still In Production: yes, but limited
Sample or Full Bar: full bar
Date Tried: may 2013
Dry Scent: a distinctly sage-y smell, a wee bit spicy but mostly just a nice clean plant scent….
Pretty sure Flip isn’t going to let us actually discontinue his soap…
got my scent marking/solid perfume from Contact*Caffeine!
The scent is Patchouli Honey.
it may be tiny but its really strong!
Which is good because you dont use that much!
As for the scent, its kinda of like an old powder room. @w@
when applied you can smell the honey in it better.
Its a rather interesting scent!
All I smell is powdery honey too, but that honey sweet is great during the summer.
So’s there’s this cool place called Con*tact Caffeine
They sell caffeinated soaps in many flavors
my friends and I recently decided to split a three pack, and got these flavors. Of which they were awesome
Aeronaut- Leather Jacket
Swag got this one, and it literally smells like her…
"It’s really good for you guys like me who like sweet stuff, but don’t want all that flowery bullshit. Plus there’s a cool dragon on the soap!"
Ah! My marketing theory, revealed!
Contact Caffeine’s Koala Colada (scent marking + decaf soap)
Hey I’m back! My partner came to visit and brought along all of the soaps and scent markings I ordered.
I got 4 last minute additions to the collection which are Koala Colada and Honey Patchouli as soaps and scent markings.
Koala Colada (decaf) and Rich Lime (caffeinated) are my current shower soaps.
Now on to the reviews!
A very mild, milky sweet and soft scented soap with a true coconut smell!
Its dry scent is stronger than its wet scent, and there is either a very light or no after scent to note of. I have to use it very thoroughly for there to be any after scent. It is very pleasant to use in the shower, however!
I do wish I could have this creamy coconutty smell more noticeably on my skin, but if you’re not a fan of having any after scent or for more mild smelling soaps in general then this is a good soap to go for.
Now this one is interesting! At the first smell, I was honestly a little put off by this as a scent marking. As a more concentrated smell, it’s similar to coconut water and has that odd, burnt “flavour”.
I used it lightly on myself, then got the idea to try using it with some other scent markings of mine. Lo and behold, it works amazingly when used with other scent markings!
I love to use this in combination with my fruity scent markings such as Pineapple Paprika, Yuzu, and Tiki Giraffe! It adds a little extra tropical kick. I cannot really recommend it at all on its own, however, so be cautious unless you really love how coconut water tastes and smells.
Tiki Giraffe, you say? Maybe Koala Colada needs a boost…
I think you have a return customer! I was afraid the scent would be weak, especially the rootbeer, but it's definitely not. Any chance of seeing other scented products (air fresheners, anti-perspirants, shampoos) from you? I'd pick some up!
Glad you like the scents! We knew rootbeer would be awesome from the minute we smelled it, and always love making fresh batches because it makes the house smell so delicious! New products we’re working on right now are going to be lotions (with and without caffeine) and soy candles. I’d love to branch out to shampoos in the future!
Neogeen did the artwork for our banner, you can see the full image here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4874959/
The artwork on the rest of our labels is done by all sorts of awesome artists - read the description on each soap’s individual page for a link to their gallery.
Happy April, everyone! This post is a no foolin’ kinda thing. Today we’ve launched two new soaps, including the first Soap of the Month.
April’s Soap of the Month is U JELLY?, a jellybean scented treat.
Also released today was Amethyst Dragon, which is a blend of black amber and lavender. Very earthy, really nice scent. I think it’s a great addition to the Dragon line, and it’s got some awesome artwork by Dingbat / Erin Middendorf.
The other awesome news is that our artists are going to have another opportunity for exposure, as Barefoot Barista will be carrying our soaps at their wonderful coffee shop on Pawley’s Island, South Carolina. We’re very excited to have our first spot in a retail environment, and are happy to get the awesome artwork on our labels out there for more people to see! Barefoot Barista won’t be carrying all of our line, and are starting out with 10 scents: Absinthe, Aeronaut, Chai Spice, Creamsicle, Green Tea, P.L.U.R.., Ruby Dragon, Snozzberry, Stormy Night, and Werewolf.
